Frequently asked questions
For our school-term sessions, we offer experiences for children aged 6 months to 4 years. Babes-in-arms under 6 months of age (who are attending with an older sibling) are welcome to come along to our sessions, free of charge. Once bub hits 6 months and they’re ready to join the fun more actively, you will need to purchase a ticket for them. We also welcome children over 4 years old, however, sessions are specifically designed for children within this age group, so please consider this when booking in.
Our weekly sessions are currently held in Aspley and you will receive the address the day before your booked session.
We also hold pop up sessions across North Brisbane. Wonder Seekers Sensory Play will post updates on social media by 7am the morning of the session, so please follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
When booking a session with us, you'll be guided through a series of questions. We appreciate your attention to detail in reading and responding to each question as needed. Our space is small so please only bring 1 adult per family to a session. If you would like to bring a partner or a grandparent - please message me first to double-check our space availability. We have casual session passes, mini-term and full term passes available. Pricing is set per child, but we do offer a significant discount for siblings.
We recommend wearing suitable weather clothing for outdoor play, something that you don’t mind getting dirty and something suitable to play in the sun. A change of clothes, towel, wet wipes, water and food, hat, mosquito repellent, and sun cream, as well as anything else your little one needs to feel comfortable during and after playing. We will have a tub of water available to help rinse off any mess after playing. Please note: Wonder Seekers Sensory Play takes no responsibility for any staining or damage that may happen to your or your child’s clothing.
We run an unstructed session that will incorporate different elements each week. When you arrive at our session you and your child/ren are welcome to dive straight in and explore everything on offer.
Our sessions have a capped number of participants to ensure your little one gets the most out of the environment and the activities available. Parents are encouraged to get involved with and connect with their little ones to create some special memories through play. It is likely you will get messy too, but we're sure you won't mind too much!
Each week, we will focus on a different theme and base our sensory and messy play experiences around it.
We will often have books, and musical instruments, for children to explore.
At the end of each session, we may hold an informal group book reading or join together for morning tea to help with the transition home. Otherwise, you are welcome to depart when you and your child/ren are ready :)
No (sorry!). Wonder Seekers Sensory Play is not a childcare, family day care, or babysitting service.
This is a parent-supervised activity, and each parent is responsible for the full supervision and care of their child/children at all times, particularly when using small loose parts and interacting in water play. Children must not be left alone at any time and parents are responsible for their own children and their actions.
It is a requirement of Wonder Seekers Sensory Play that you do not attend a session if you or your child are unwell or have tested positive for COVID-19 or any other illness. Due to the cost of materials and other fees, and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law, we are not required to give a refund or replacement for the service and/ or product for change of mind or illness. However, we understand that children fall ill, so Wonder Seekers Sensory Play is happy for you to transfer your ticket to a friend or reschedule your ticket to a session the following week, or a session that is mutually convenient. Wonder Seekers Sensory Play is a family-run business and the health and safety of our family and guests are our number 1 priority. PLEASE NOTE: you MUST provide written notification at least 12 hours prior to the beginning of the session that you will not be in attendance, or your session fee will be forfeited, and no refunds/ reschedules/ transfers will be given. Please email wonderseekerssp@gmail.com with any changes to ticket details.
Yes, definitely! In fact, we love it when you share your captured moments and tag us on social media. We do ask that you be mindful when taking photos/ videos and ensure other children and parents faces are not shared online (unless you have their consent). We will also be taking photographs and videos at every session as part of our marketing, which may be uploaded to our social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook). Please let us know if you would prefer this not to happen. We respect your privacy.
No, not all our bases are food. While we want to provide a safe sensory play environment, particularly for young babies and toddlers (who tend to put everything in their mouths!), we are mindful of food usage and do not use any products containing nuts, soy, dairy or eggs in our activities. However, some products used do have an allergy warning stating "may contain traces of" these allergens. Taste safe means that your little one will be fine if they do happen to have a little taste, however, the activities are not intended to be eaten. All materials that are used are food based are prepared and stored in a safe manner in a smoke and pet-free home. We will incorporate natural elements (i.e. ones that cannot be eaten) and other props in our environment to promote a sustainable play space.
